Carols in the Desert
December 20, 2019
4:00pm – 8:00pm
Join us on Friday 20 December, 4:00pm, for our much beloved annual Carols in the Desert!
We will be having a fun community time with a Braai/Barbecue followed by a time of worship through singing Christmas carols and reading Scripture.
This is a great time to invite friends and neighbors to come celebrate and sing to our King.
WHAT TO BRING
Everyone will bring their own food and drink and paper goods. You can also bring your own method of cooking, although there will also be a community barbecue available for you to use. Bring chairs and blankets, it can get cool in the evenings this time of year. Keep in mind that there are no bathrooms available. Complimentary American style S'mores will be provided for a sweet treat to end the night!
LOCATION & DIRECTIONS
The location is about 25 minutes east of the airport off Sweihan Road, in an open desert area.
This Google pin drop is accurate and will take you to the right spot when using Google Maps app on your phone: https://goo.gl/maps/c33fAvNC6Ep6iyfG7
Here are some notes on getting there: You will pass an ADNOC station, go straight through the roundabout, in ~4km, shortly after flashing "reduce speed now" signs, you'll turn right, coming to a camel barricade that will open automatically. Go through the gate and turn immediately left, follow the packed sand pathway.
4x4 is not necessary to reach this spot but keep up your speed on the sandy areas! Look for our parking volunteers upon arrival to assist you in parking.
PARENTS: Be responsible for your children! There are camels, nasty insects & other desert hazards you need to watch out for.
