Preteens are unique and special in their own way, they don’t only deserve but need their own ministry/group. At Grace Tweens we strive to look for ways through which we can meet our 10 to 12 year olds needs.
When younger the preteens accepted almost everything they were told just because they were told, at the preteen stage they tend to ask questions before they accept things. At Grace Tweens we believe that questioning is good and healthy and we are dedicated to support our preteens work through their questions and arrive at a genuine rooted faith.
Grace tweens meet regularly on Saturdays after the worship songs, in their class they don’t just get taught but they get coached as well, they are shown how to fetch biblical truth by themselves through literally flipping the bible themselves.
We invite all preteens aged 10 to 12 to our programs every Saturday at the end of worship songs.
PRETEENS PROGRAMS
Bible classes; (vertical connection)
The aim of these classes is to connect our 10-12 year olds to Jesus by welcoming them to a safe space, praying with them, studying the scriptures and demonstrating the love of Christ.
Every Saturday during the main service they meet in class for 1hr, the first 30 minutes is spent on being taught the lesson of the week, reviewing it together, missions moment and they are divided into groups where they interact and all participate in a group discussion from 3 key points of the lesson. Thereafter they are engaged in class activities for the other 30 minutes.
Midweek - During the week a communication is sent out to all the preteens parents on what the preteens studied and how parents can support in discipling their preteens during the week. This resource comes with a parent summary of the lesson and a follow up quiz is attached for the preteens to answer and turn in.
Hangouts: (horizontal connections)
The aim of these hangouts is to provide a casual space where our preteens will create healthy relationships with other fellow young Christians. Get opportunities to serve, encourage, care and love one another.
At the moment tweens hangouts are at-least once a quarter. Their hangouts range from movie nights to pool parties to bowling hangouts.
